As you are aware St Nicholas and St Laurence School has been open every day, except weekends, since the Corona virus lockdown. This has included public and school holidays to support our key worker and vulnerable children. Since the loosening of lockdown, we have had an increase in key worker and vulnerable children returning to school. As a result, it has been extremely difficult to deep clean the school and provide staff with time for their preparation and planning (PPA) while at the same time ensuring our ‘bubbles’ we have created keep all the children and staff safe.
With this in mind, in discussion with the Chair of Governors, we have decided we will be closing the school every Friday afternoon. This is with effect from week commencing Monday 15th June. Therefore, parents of key worker and vulnerable children will be required to collect their children from school at 12.30 p.m. on Fridays.
This has not been a decision we have taken lightly but to ensure we are following government guidance and stick to our key decision to make sure all children and staff are safe we have had to move in this direction.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate in contacting the school office. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the school in these challenging times.
