We still only have five chicks today – one chick is struggling to hatch but we can still hear it chirping away so are hopeful it will survive. Today our poorly chick had a visit to the vets, his hips were slightly splayed so the vet has strapped his legs together in the hope he will gain some strength in them and it will right itself. Thank you so much to Castle Vets for seeing our chick so quickly. We have put him in a separate box at the moment as the other chicks were walking on him, but he is eating and drinking well so we are hopeful he will make a full recovery! This weekend the chicks are going home with Mrs Neale who has a very happy husband and daughter who can’t wait to look after the chicks – in fact our poorly chick is even going to have some physio by Mrs Neale’s daughter!
