Lunchtime Arrangements

KS1 Children

All children in KS1 are entitled to free school meals at lunchtime. At St Nicholas and St Laurence we offer the option of a packed lunch or a hot school meal. Our children go to Wey Valley School canteen for their lunches. All the lunches are made on the premises with fresh produce. Each day there is a meat main course with vegetarian alternative, fresh vegetables or salad and a choice of puddings. For the packed lunches you get to choose from wraps or rolls and have a choice of three fillings for these. The children who go for the hot lunches/packed lunches will walk over to Wey Valley School, with supervisors from our school, at 12 o’clock. They will return to our school once all of our children have finished.

KS2 Children

For those children entitled to Free School Meals, the option of a hot school meal at Wey Valley is also available. All the lunches are made on the premises with fresh produce. Each day there is a meat main course with vegetarian alternative, fresh vegetables or salad and a choice of puddings. The children who go for the hot lunches/packed lunches will walk over to Wey Valley School, with supervisors from our school, at 12 o’clock. They will return to our school once all of our children have finished.
For those who are not entitled to Free School Meals the option of a freshly cooked hot school meal is still available at £2 per day.

Food Orders

Meals are ordered via our main office. Letters are sent home at the end of each half term, ready for the following half term. Letters are sent home with plenty of time to complete and return to the school office. If you feel you may be eligible for free school meals please ask for advice at the school office who will direct you in how to apply or click on the link below.

All children not having a hot meal will require either a packed lunch. If a packed lunch is required please mark your child’s box clearly with his/her name and current class.

Morning Break

Children may bring an item of fruit, vegetables or a healthy snack bar to school to eat as their play time snack. The school has a ‘no sweets’ policy. We ask all parents/carers to do all they can to support this policy.

Drinks in plastic bottles or cartons, please and no glass bottles, canned or fizzy drinks. Water only please.
