This half term, Year 6 have been learning about trade, We started to think about why The Silk Road in China was one of the most important routes for trade. The Silk Road was important because it helped to generate trade and commerce between a number of different kingdoms and empires. This helped for ideas, culture, inventions, and unique products to spread across much of the settled world. We used map skills to learn about Southampton Port, and the container ships which travel in and out every day. We enjoyed learning about the imports from China, and what we export to the Chinese. We discovered that mostly this is high quality British products, unique to Britain. We researched products made in Dorset and for fun have created some short adverts for you, to persuade you to buy our very special Dorset-made goods. We hope that you enjoy our short films!
