Tom and Charlie were joined by Weymouth FC Community Football Officer, Paul Tapper and led an assembly to highlight the importance of reading to children at St Nicholas & St Laurence Primary School.
As part of their support of the Chesil Reading Project, players from the men’s and women’s teams are visiting local schools to promote the importance of reading and its value to academic achievement.
There are also various incentives for the children who achieve reading goals such as: coaching sessions, matchday tickets, stadium tours and even the opportunity to be a mascot for a home game! Years 5 and 6 are very much looking forward to their training sessions and loved the assembly. Tom, Charlie and Paul even signed footballs and football shirts for us!
