What a wonderful day we had visiting Dippy the diplodocus

All of year two were amazed by his size and asked lots of questions about how they managed to get him into the museum.
Our first activity of the day was meeting David who told us lots of information about dinosaurs that might have roamed with Dippy. We loved asking questions and we found out that Dippy’s brain would be the same weight as one banana.

For our second activity we transformed into archaeologists. We went fossil hunting and looked in boxes of sand to find different specimens.

Finally, we learnt about how fossils were formed. We learnt a new fact that Dorset would have been a swamp during the Jurassic Period.

We had an amazing day!
