Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

Welcome to Year 4 where we are looking forward to taking you on the next phase of your exciting and inspiring learning journey. This will be enhanced by creative activities in school such as, drama, art and music linked to the topics we cover. Would you like to make a Viking ship or design a torch or learn to play a brass instrument? These are just a taste of what is to come.

We also arrange trips out to support our learning; the ‘Outdoor Education Centre’ and a trip to Safewise at the fire station are always popular days. We also have a residential weekend.

This trip is invaluable in developing the children’s independence and increasing their confidence. They are all very proud of what they achieve. It also gives us the opportunity to study a different coastline to the one they are familiar with in Dorset and to make comparisons. This trip also prepares the children for the longer residential undertaken in upper KS2 and gets them used to being away from home.

Mr Sawyer and Mrs Hale are always on hand to help you along the way and guide you towards developing your learning, skills for life and positive thinking. We have a ‘We can try,’ attitude to learning and all children are encouraged to reach their full potential.
