We kick started their new topic of “Wriggle and Crawl” with a morning bug hunt.
We found slow worms hidden under the grass, woodlice snuggled under the logs, worms wriggling in the soil and marvellous millipedes hidden in the traps that the forest school children had put out for us.
It was great fun working in teams of Year One and Year Two children.
In the afternoon, Ranger Russ came to visit us with his fantastic creatures. We were amazed by giant African snail slime, Millie the millipede’s legs and the Leopard Gecko’s coloured tail.
We even had a visit from a 12 foot long python called Clive. Mr David, Mrs Bennett and Madeleine’s Mum were fortunate enough to hold him. He was very heavy. Ranger Russ told us that he could eat something that was as big as us!
Thank you to Ranger Russ for coming to visit!
