Year 6’s we are missing you so much! Right now I’d usually be thinking about which songs we will be singing at the end of year for your leaving assembly so that we could start practising them. Things are a bit different this year so Mrs Neale has come up with a plan which is going to be loads of fun!
We are going to become a virtual choir – where we all record our parts separately and then put them all together. The great thing about doing this is that you will be able to keep it forever – and it will remind you of the crazy time you had at the end of Year 6!
If you are not sure what a virtual choir is take a look at this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqWQCWc_zCc
We thought we would sing ‘SING’ because you know it well and we often sing it at the end of the year.
Here is what you need to do.
1. Listen to the song (attached to this post) and practice a few times until you are ready to record.
2. Take a video of you singing the song. You will need two devices to do this. You need to use one device to play the track so you can listen to it on headphones. Using a second device record a video of you (head and shoulders) singing the entire song with your headphones in. The video needs to be taken of the whole song-even though you won’t be singing the whole time. If you do it right the only sound on the video will be your voice-no backing track! We even want to record the first bit before you start singing so make sure you start recording yourself before you press play on the backing track.
3. Email your video to firstname.lastname@example.org and mark the subject ‘SING year 6’.
The lyrics are attached to this post as well so that you can learn the lyrics.
Good luck everyone. Can’t wait to hear you. Deadline for completed videos is Monday 6th July.
Miss Wakefield and Mrs Neale
